Eligibility Certeria

Admission for First Year Diploma

Eligibility criteria for Maharashtra State for admission to First year of diploma courses in Engineering/ Technology:

Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the SSC (Std. X) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent, with subjects Maths/Mathematics, General Science and English, with minimum 35% aggregate marks.

Note: The term "aggregate marks" used here shall mean as follows:
  1. For Maharashtra State Board Candidates:
    1. The candidates who have passed SSC Examination prior to March 2009, the aggregate marks shall be grand total of marks obtained by the candidate in any 5 subjects where he/she has scored maximum marks.
    2. The candidates who have passed SSC Examination after March 2009, the aggregate marks shall be total marks of 5 subjects taken into consideration and mentioned on the Mark sheet.
    3. Candidates who have passed Maths/Mathematics (Code 71 for Maharashtra State Board candidates) and Science & Technology (Code 72 for Maharashtra State Board candidates) are only eligible for admission.
    4. In case marks against sports activities are given on the marksheet, these shall be added to the aggregate marks for deciding merit
  2. For ICSE Candidates:
    1. Student seeking admission on the basis of Group 1 & Group 2 subjects only, the aggregate marks shall be the grand total of marks in any of the 5 subjects from Group 1 & Group 2 where he/she has scored maximum marks.
    2. Student seeking admission on the basis of Group 1, Group 2 & Group 3, aggregate marks shall be the grand total of all subjects from all groups.
  3. For CBSE Candidates:
    1. The aggregate mark means the grand total of marks obtained by the candidate, including all subjects as declared on Mark sheet.
  4. For CBSE/ICSE Candidates:-
    1. In case the result of the candidate is given in terms of grades, such Candidates are required to submit the graded result into the equivalent marks authorized from the concerned institute /Board.
    2. Note: Candidates passing SSC from other than State Boards or Central Boards shall bring equivalent certificate from Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE).
  5. Any amendments/Acts/Judgments which may be published by Government/Hon. Courts of India/DTE from time to time will be applicable to Candidates.

Direct Second Year Diploma

Eligibility For Direct Second Year Of Three/Four Year Diploma Courses In Engineering/Technology:
2.0 Educational Qualification

Candidate should be Indian National domiciled in Maharashtra fulfilling the conditions prescribed in rule 2.1 and must have passed HSC Science or HSC (Bifocal/Technical) or HSC (Vocational/MCVC) Examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or SSC with 2 years duration ITI/ITI COE with 3 modules with appropriate specialization or its equivalent.

2.1 Criteria for Eligibility as Maharashtra State Candidate:

A Candidate is considered Eligible for Admission to Direct Second Year of Diploma courses in Engineering / Technology under these rules subject to Fulfillment of any one of the Eligibility Criteria as listed in the following table.

1 Maharashtra State Type "A" Candidate Passing 12th Standard examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the Mathematics/ Biology (Botany and Zoology), or 12th Science (with Mathematics as one of the Subject) or 12th Science with Vocational or 12th Science with Technical or Standard 10th + (2 years ITI) with appropriate Trade from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State.
2 Candidate/Father or Mother is Maharashtra Domiciled. Type "B" Candidate who does not fall in Type A above, but who or whose father or mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possesses domicile certificate.
3 Sons and daughters of Central Govt. / Govt. of India Undertaking employee Type "C" Candidate who does not fall in either Type A or Type B but whose father or mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submitting the Application Form for CAP.
4 Sons and Daughters of Maharashtra State/ Maharashtra State Undertaking Employees. Type "D" Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type A, Type B and Type C but whose father or mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking.
5 Candidate located in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area and also whose Mother tongue is Marathi. Type "E" Candidate Passing 12th Standard examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects alongwith one of the Mathematics/ Biology (Botany and Zoology) or 12th Science (with Mathematics as one of the Subject) or 12th Science with Vocational or 12th Science with Technical or 10th+ (2 years ITI) with appropriate Trade from a Recognized Institution located in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border area or from Maharashtra, residing in the disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border area and also whose mother tongue is Marathi.
2.2 General Notes on Eligibility:
Admission of any Candidate made at the Institution shall be provisional subject to the final Eligibility Certification from the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE)/Board of Vocational Education & Training and final approval given by the State CET Cell or authority authorized by it.
*If Candidate fails to get Eligibility, his/her Admission may be cancelled at any stage.
